VOX television broadcast snippet (yesterday):
Real estate agent: opens the realty gate with grand gesture and declares: "Avada Kedavra!" to his client.
The muggle delights.

There's an anime exhibition opening at Bonn Bundeskunsthalle today. Main station and Underground lines teeming with cosplayers. Those crazy kids are actually changing into their costumes right here on the train platform. (Aren't you cold, for heaven's sake?! It's 14 Celsius / 57 Fahrenheit atm!)
... I'm a tad sad now to be travelling to my parents' place this weekend. Would've been fun to t00b around the city and catch some of them on photo.
Also, note to self: Clear some space in your schedule for the exhibition. Will be open until January 8th, so that should be doable.
... Colonians among my flist, anyone of you interested to come see it (and me), too?

Back from Cologne, watching HP 8 (or 7.2 - suit yourself) with aome, her hubby and her kids,
chinawolf,
ina,
lachan and
katerina_2008. Dinner at the Alte Feuerwache before and a milkshake at an icecream parlor after. So many memories - fun!!
The movie? - Bugs me at all the same places as the book, so I guess they must have gotten things right in JKR's eyes. Made me laugh at all the same places, too, and that is good. And found some highlights to put in that were brilliant. Like Albus Junior's pet. Much agiggle.
The CGing was absolutely awesome, though. I loved to see the film in 3D. Minor problems with some fast camera 360 degrees turns... they actually made me dizzy. Huh.
All in all a really nice evening. Bed, now!

Thought I'd spend most of today complaining about the heat - but it turns out 35 degrees Celsius (that's Fahrenheit 95) were just the temperature to make me feel warm enough. Unfortunately it's dropping now. *shivers*
That's one b*tch of a cold, I'm telling you.
*scrambles for tissues, coughing her lungs out all the while*

So. Spent a week preparing for my birthday party - cleaning house for 5 grownup sleepover guests, baking, cooking, cutting veggies for salads... Yay for cucumbers and tomatoes being cleared of EHEC suspicions right on time BTW. Dear RAW veggies - how much I missed you...!
Then, running around catering for said guests all Sunday and Monday morning, clearing up stuff and rooms afterwards, and finally dropping halfdead on Monday afternoon. As much fun as it was, I was rather happily relaxing back at work - and that's saying something.
How the hell do y'all manage family mayhem all the time? - I admire you. *nodnod*
You know you're getting old when it makes you happy that you only have one bday per year.

Just back from a really nice meeting with our American colleage D, coming over from Seattle WA this week.
Funny, though - I was wondering why people from the Pacific Northwest spoke what sounds very much like British English. Turns out, she's originally from London. Yep, that might explain things. *g*
